Defy Convention is a new, Michigan based, production agency that specializes in creatively defying the standards and expectations of the event production and operations industry.

Founded by Detroit and Ann Arbor based creatives, Joe Rovner & Andrew Radford in 2023, Defy was founded with the principle that all events, large and small, should be diverse, colorful and engaging. That immersive environments don’t have to be cost prohibitive. And that an agency’s job is to communication honestly and truthfully about how the event is being produced and operated, not simply act as a middle man between the client and other vendors.
